Stiff Upper Lip

Well, today was a big day at our house. Today was the first day of...(cue the "duh duh duh" music) middle school!!! (yelling/screaming/slasher sounds from "Psycho")

How can this be? Noelle was up when her alarm went off, had eaten breakfast, brushed her teeth and was dressed, ready to go to school at 6:30. She looked so grown up! I drove her to school today and am picking her up after. Tomorrow, I guess she is going to ride the bus with her friend, Leya. Her school starts at 7:25. I wanted, (read had) to take her picture before we left. Could I find the camcorder, no. After a few minutes of, "you can't have a first day of school without a picture", I found it only to discover the battery was dead!!! After plugging it in and taking her picture, we were on the road.

This being the first time for "middle school" drop off, I was one of many with a "deer in the headlights" look. The middle school and junior high are in the same area and start at the same time. It was kind of nuts with parents trying to drop kids off at the different schools.

Regardless, Noelle got to school and I didn't cry.

Michael on the other hand was a different story. When I got home from dropping off Noelle, I went to wake him up. He opened one eye, looked at me and said "all ready?". He gave his breakfast order to Sean, Michael was dressed and ready to go. I took his picture and we were out the door.
He has the same 4th grade teacher Noelle had. A huge plus to Michael is that one of his best friends, and soccer buddy, Blaine is in his class. Also in his class is one of his friends from down the street, Cameron. Michael and Blaine sit at the same group of of desks and Cameron sits within arms reach of Michael. I don't see this seating arrangement lasting too long.
