Noelle came home to a room that she had no say in.
SHE LOVED IT!!!
We painted it kind of a mocha color with pink words of inspiration all over. She has mirrored closet doors and a loft bed.
She can and her friends can write all around the wall where her closets are. I watched something called "The Last Lecture". In it, the man giving the lecture said "do me a favor, if your kids want to write on their walls, please, for me, let them do it". Of all the things he said in the lecture, that was the thing that stuck out.
In the video, he showed the room he grew up in with all the things he wrote. I thought how neat it was for him to go back years later and see the things he and his friends had written. Such a wonderful idea that goes against one of the first things kids learn "don't write on the wall". In the end, it's just a wall.
I'll post pictures later today. (hopefully) Noelle promises she will keep it clean. This will be a must!
She also got a lock on her door. We explained to her that the lock can come off in 15 minutes if the privilege is abused.
