Happy Birthday Wonder Twins!!!!

The Wondertwins are three today!! Three, can you believe it???

I had the pleasure of accompanying Jack and Riley today with Amy at Wonderscope. It was a day filled with golf balls, newspaper hats, water and hula hoops.

Mr. Stinky Feet was there as well. We were sitting getting ready for him to start his show when I heard, possibly one of the funniest things I've ever heard:
  • mom sitting with her kids getting ready for Mr. Stinky Feet, she asks her son to sit down
  • mom notices that he is not wearing and socks
  • mom: "oh, looks like you forgot to put socks on, I bet your feet are cold"
  • son: "no, their not. I forgot to put on underwear too"
  • mom: "oh, underwear is something to not forget to put on"
  • son: "yeah"

I just loved listening to the boys speak all day and could have listened all night as well. Here are just a few of the wondertwin things I got to hear today:

  • "Erin and mommy sit in the front my car"
  • "Erin not wear her coat, Erin coat at home"
  • "Jack want pink snowflake right here"
  • "I faaareee today, Erin. Jack and Riley are faaareee"

One last funny thing heard today while waiting for Mr. Stinky Feet. Before he started singing, Mr. Stinky Feet asked what was special today. A room full of kids and parents yell "it's New Year's Eve". However, two blond hair blue eyed little boys yelled at the top of their lungs "it's Jack and Riley's burfday!!".

A special day indeed

Merry Christmas!!

We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.

The kids slept in until 8:15, so that was nice. We opened presents and the kids were so happy to get MP3 players. That was the one thing they both wanted. They gave us the best present. It was a DVD they had made of different pictures of them set to music.

We hit the movies and saw "Bedtime Stories". It was pretty good, the kids really liked it. When we got home, I took a nap, Michael played thought of songs to put on his player and Sean and Noelle did karaoke with her new karaoke microphone thing.

We can't wait to see mom, dad, Amy, Jon and the boys on Saturday!!

It's Christmas Eve!!

Happy Christmas Eve!!

What a day. We started off with some ice with snow on top that later turned to slush. Sean only worked half a day today, so that was nice.

The kids and I went shopping for Sean's presents today. It somewhat reminded me of our day after Thanksgiving experience. Something that we won't be doing again. In all honestly, if the flu had not hit us twice in the last three weeks, we would have been done long ago.

Tonight, we had a wonderful Christmas with Sean's dad and Edna. Everyone received such nice things. I, of course, got the best gift of all. Edna put together a cookbook for me of her favorite recipes!!! The book is loving organized and all written out by hand. It's one of the nicest mot personal gifts I've ever been given. Having them turn out like she does will be a whole different story.

Tomorrow, we will be having Christmas ourselves and picking our annual Christmas movie. Right now it looks like "Bedtime Stories" will be the one. Saturday, we will have Christmas with mom, dad, Amy, Jon and the boys. This will be a fun Christmas as the boys will be 3 on the 31st. (man time flies)

I will be sending out our Christmas cards this week. I had ordered them from Wal*Mart. I ordered them late. I had gotten an email two days ago saying they were in. When I went to pick them up, they said they couldn't find them. I told them they were photo cards, but they didn't listen. Today, someone listened, looked in the right place and told me they had been there for two days.

We hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday!!!

Way Behind

Well, we are not done Christmas shopping, not only that, we don't have lights on the house this year.

We were late getting our tree as well. We normally get it the weekend after Thanksgiving, but after out "day after shopping", I think we were traumatized. We don't have much left, but the fact we still have shopping to do makes me sick.

Amy and Jon had the kids spend the night Friday and the plan was to do most of the shopping then. We saw an opportunity to spend some time together. We did do some shopping, but we also went out to dinner and saw "Four Christmases". I can't think of the last time I heard Sean laugh out loud so much.

It doesn't help that Michael is sick again today. It started last night resulting in not much sleep for the two of us. Later, Sean and I were at Wal*Mart and it hit me. I'm so hoping this leaves our house soon, we don't want to be sick for Christmas.

Jerry and Edna are supposed to be here Christmas Eve, so it would be nice for all of us to be well by then. Maybe Michael and I can be over this by midnight, it can skip Noelle and Sean until Sunday.

In other news:
  • Jerry, Sean, the kids and I went to Springfield on Sunday to see Jerry's mom. It was a quick trip but it was so worth it to see how happy she was to see us.

  • Sean has sold three cars this month.

  • Noelle's concert was cancelled due to weather and rescheduled until after the holidays.

  • Michael's soccer continues. They have yet to win and indoor game. They have been out matched and I guess for the next session they are going to split all of the teams in to A & B as this has been an issue for several teams.

Well, I think I'll grab a bowl, snuggle up with Michael and get some sleep.

It Was 20 Years Ago Today (x3)

Someone very important in my life was born.
A few hints:

  1. this person is a female
  2. she married a man who chased her down to get her number
  3. she thought it would be interesting to be pregnant during one of the hottest summers on record in Texas
  4. she taught her daughters that you can go back to school no matter how old you are
  5. she is a fun "gee"/"gigi" who loves her gradchildren with all her heart

Happy Birthday mom!!! I'm so glad God picked you for me!

I hope you have a wonderful day and that you can feel the love so many have for you.

I Know, You've Missed Us

Several things have happened around here as of late.

First, the guy, the property was bought, (we'll call him KJ), from is finally leaving!!! He has been using the large grey building. It has been more or less a huge storage place, full of crap. He has known for quite sometime he was to leave, but put it off.

One day, a note was left on the building by a man in a suit. KJ showed up, left and was back in about five minutes and started hauling stuff out of there like his life depended on it. It appears he is attempting to leave the inside somewhat clean, so that will help. We are still convinced that there is a dead animal, (or two) in the last stall. I hope he cleans that up too.

We had our ribbon cutting with the mayor on Thursday. We had about 15-20 people there, so that was a pretty good turn out.

We bought some ad space on the back of register receipt's a while back and they came out the other day. We had our first customer turn it in the other day. He was really impressed that he could get the dents and scratched repaired while he waited.

Michael was sick pretty much all last week. He came home from school on Monday after throwing up in gym. He made it back to school on Friday. I felt kind of crappy last week as well and now, Sean is not feeling too whippy.

We finally bought our Christmas tree today. This is SUPER late for us as we normally have it bought and up the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Between getting ready for the ribbon cutting and sickness, it was put on the back burner.

Noelle has her Christmas band concert on Tuesday. I'm upset about this because that is the same night Jack and Riley have their music concert. I don't see anyway I can see both, but I'm sure Amy will tape the boys, so I'll be able to see it.

I'll try and get back to posting like I was. Maybe that can be one of my resolutions.
