Once again, I'm overwhelmed by how God has touched me.
This trip to Haiti was different than the last one. I went with a girl named Arissa, who I know gladly call my friend. She has sent shoes to the kids at HIS Home For Children for four years.
We left on Saturday, spent the night in the Fort Lauderdale airport and got to Haiti Sunday. The first thing we did was go to the orphanage. The kids were so excited to get shoes. I had brought a suitcase filled with baby dolls, jump ropes, stickers, bubbles and various other things. When I opened the suitcase, it was kind of a mob scene.
We stayed at a place in Port-Au-Prince that had two armed guards. The last time I was in Haiti, they had just had riots. This time, people were in the process of protesting for elections they are having in August. We felt safe the whole time we were there.
We spent on day at the ocean. We traveled in an 18 passenger van that ended up transporting 15 adults and 13 children.
I can't wait to go back again.
