Back To Reality

Noelle comes home tonight around 7:15!!!!!

We have heard from her only once, which is a good thing. It means she has been having so much fun, she hasn't had time to miss us. I called her last night because I paid for her checked bag and wanted to see if she wanted to sit by a friend if they had an available seat. Meredith didn't know her seat number, so she kept the one they gave her.

I asked her if she was ready to come home and she said "yes". I'm not sure if it's because it is so cold there or that she misses us. I didn't ask, this way I can go with she misses us.

Today, they have a long 3 hour bus ride from Quebec to Montreal. Then a flight to Chicago. I hope there are no issues with her carry on. I think we made it as compact as possible.

We have had SO MUCH fog here, I hope they are able to land tonight. I'll be checking her flights through out the day.

Oh, I can't wait to hug my peach!!!

Oh Canada!

Well, Noelle left this morning for her trip. We got up at 3:45 to finish packing. Checking in was very chaotic. I hope it's more organized when they return home.

Thanks to the guy who lit his crotch on fire, they are not allowing much in the way of a carry on when entering the states. I got her a small shoulder purse big enough for a wallet, her camera, chap stick, kleenex and hand sanitizer.

We gave the teacher's their first "big scare". After we checked Noelle in, we went with her friend Meredith and her parents to Starbucks. We were sitting there visiting when suddenly one of the teachers showed up and said "there you two are, we've been looking everywhere for you". We explained that after check-in everyone kind of went their own way and we figured since we were right across from the gate, we'd be fine. I have a feeling that the teacher will be keeping a close Noelle and Meredith after that.

She comes back Tuesday night. I can't wait to hear all about it and look at the more than 200 pictures I'm sure she's taking.

Character Counts!!!

Noelle was acknowledged today at school for showing true character. The award stated:

"The Breakfast Club would like to acknowledge one of your classmates, Noelle Prideaux, for showing true character. She received this Character Counts award because she freely and cheerfully talks to everyone and anyone. She passes out lots and lots of compliments on a regular basis again to anyone. In addition, Noelle possesses this incredible ability to pick up the spirits of anyone who is down. She is so upbeat, one can't be down for long when Noelle is around. She is an uplifting, inspiring leader".

What a proud moment for our family.

One Step Closer To White Trash

As if the peeling paint, window rot and need for new garage doors wasn't enough to indicate the outside of our house is in need of a face lift, it now appears that due to the snow melting from the roof is trying to pull off our gutters!

I've included some photos of the one that is closest to coming off. The bad thing is it is NOT easily accessible when and if it only partially comes off. It is window is above the tub in master bath. As I was in the tub this morning, I kept hearing strange creaking noises. Now I know why.

Our list of "hopeful spring repairs" continues to grow, now with "gutter repair".
This is looking out our bathroom window.

January 7 Snow

Thank you dad for fixing our snow blower!!

Big Wheel's, Edward And A Turkey

Watch out, here they come!!! Michael, who needs a hair cut, is making sure the boy's don't peek.

Noelle and her life size Edward cutout.

Our "fat free" turkey. (don't ask how many sticks of butter)

Daisy's First Snow

She didn't know what to think. Sean cleared a path for her, but she wants to "run with the big dogs".

Enough With The Snow!!!

It's cold, cold, COLD here! The kids were supposed to go back to school on Tuesday, well, they are enjoying an extra week from school.

Noelle leaves a week from Saturday for Quebec. I'm starting to freak out just a little. I know she'll be fine and will have a great time, but I'm still freaking a little.

The city came to inspect the paint booth and found one thing wrong. They did however, say we can use is, thank heavens! They also said they have to come every six months to reinspect, something to look forward to twice a year~yeah!

The city also said that there is no "open meeting" regarding the sign and it can only change every two minutes. I guess CVS has enough money they can pay the big fines.

I'm going to post some photos of our snow and other things from the holidays.

Time to blast the kids out of bed to take down the Christmas stuff and pick up the house. They've played for two days, I think they can clean for one. I'll make their reward playing the Wii and building a fire.

Happy New Year!!!

Can anyone say cold?! The kids are supposed to go back to school tomorrow, but I don't see that happening unless it warms up. There were several schools that closed today due to the temp. I think it's -1 right now, it should be 5 around noon.

We had a wonderful Christmas. We stayed in, thanks to the snow, and played on the Wii the kids got. They also got Rock Band and Wii Fit Plus. (the last one is really for me and Noelle) Michael got a bass and Noelle got a camera from Sean's dad, while my parents provided Michael with a paintball gun, which he has used to decorate one of the walls at the shop, and Noelle got the boots and clothes she wanted.

We rang in the New Year with some old friends and had a ball. The kids were excited because they got to have Mountain Dew which NEVER happens. It wasn't long before they reminded us why they don't get it as they flew all around the house.

Gramma started the New Year by falling one day sooner than she did last year. This time, nothing is broken. I'm so glad she and Ronnie are at the nursing home together. I don't think Ronnie yet realizes that he will be staying there. While we are sad that he can't live on his own, we know that this is what is best. We don't have to worry about him and he is well taken care of.

Things are still s l o w l y progressing at the shop. The paint booth is done, now we have to wait for the city to check it off their list. We have installed an electronic sign. I have to find out when the next city meeting is regarding signs as they are saying they are only allowed to change "every two minutes to prevent accidents". The stop light in front of the shop stays red on the main drag for approx. 1-2 minutes. The sign could change ever 30 seconds and we could get our message out about our services.

It's amazing, they are riding us about our sign, yet the CVS sign changes every 10-15 seconds and there is no problem there. (breath in, breath out, breath in, breath out)

I'll really try to do better about blogging. I know dad has said he's going to just take it off his bookmark thing. I told him the day he does, I'll post something important and he'll miss it.
