Count Down To Oscars!!!

THE OSCARS ARE ANNOUNCED TOMORROW!!!!

Well the count down to the Oscars has begun and I, for one, can't wait!!

As many know, my sister and I watch the show together every year.  I make a point of watching every movie that is nominated for best picture.  Last year, I was in a mad dash to see everything at the last minute, (however, I could NOT make it through "The Tree of Life") it looks like this year will be a mad dash as well.

Typically, you can tell what movies will be nominated by the Golden Globes.  After looking at the list, I rented "Moonrise Kingdom".  I personally don't think this movie will be nominated.  I found it to be strange, interesting and slightly odd.  Basically, I'm not really sure how I felt about it.  I liked Edward Norton, thought Bruce Willis had his moments and Bill Murray seemed kind of flat and emotionless.  However, Frances McDormand...what can I say, I love her!!  (for the record, every wife and mother needs a bullhorn).  She had me with "Fargo".

Sean and I saw "Django Unchained" this past weekend and I really kind of liked it.  It is VERY much a Quentin Tarantino movie.  As with most of his movies, I did a lot of face covering.  Jamie Foxx did a great job and I felt Christopher Walz did an over the top job.  I loved his performance in "Inglorurious Basterds" and feel that he did a superb job in this film as well.

Here are my predictions:  "Argo", "Django Unchained", "Les Miserables", "Life of Pi", "Lincoln", "Silver Linings Playbook" and "Zero Dark Thirty".

Of all of these, I am look forward to seeing "Les Miserables" the least.  I know it's gotten good reviews, but I don't know how excited I am about seeing something that has the word "miserable" in the title.

Happy 2013!!!

Yes, it's been a while since I've sat down to write or anything.

2012 seemed to go by fast for us.  Our business went though some growing changes, but it feels like we have the right "fit" for everything.  The leasing side has really taken off.  In 2012, we leased more vehicles than we sold~a goal we hit earlier than expected.  We believe we now have the mechanic that we've needed all along.  We added an alignment rack as well as tire sales to our services.

Noelle is in her junior year and was named color guard captain.  She turned 16, had a pretty cool Sweet Sixteen party, complete with DJ, magician and her favorite gift a car.  She has discovered a love of rugby, yes, RUGBY!  This from a girl who does not like to sweat.  Her team won state this year and she looks forward to playing again in the fall.

Michael continues his love of guitar.  For Christmas he got a 12 string electric/acoustic.  He wants to write an album specifically for the 12 string.  I believe this not brings his guitar total to around 14, but whose counting.  He's in his freshman year and next year will be at the high school with his sister.

Sadly this year we said good bye to Sean's best friend, Jason.  They had been best friends since junior high.  Jason fought a long battle against cancer and sadly, like so many others, he was unable to defeat it.  I know that there are still times where Sean struggles with the fact that Jason is gone.  However, I know that, with all of those who have gone before us, Jason is still with us everyday.

One of my goals of the new year is to get back to blogging like I used to and it's one I'm going to work hard to keep.
