For the 3rd year in a row, the Prideaux family has managed to meet their insurance deductible, however, this is the earliest ever.
I still have physical therapy, now 3 times a week due to falls and rotator cuff repair . I have a neurology appointment Wednesday afternoon. I have a feeling I will then be sent to an Ear Nose & Throat doctor. After many ear ruptures, tubes and sinus infections, I have a feeling my balance issues are related to those things.
Michael went to Children's Mercy ER February 5. He's been having spells that they aren't sure of and since our doctor had been trying to get him in since December 28, she suggested the next time he had one to take him to the ER so he could be seen sooner for an EEG. He had an appointment with a neurologist March 3 and they spent about 45 minutes with him.
Feeling frustrated, when I had my doctor appointment on March 4, I explained my frustration and she said she would see what she could do, but since Michael is a minor, there may not be much. She was able to get him in to see Dr. Vernon Rowe, one of only about two who will see minors. His appointment was March 10 and he spent about 2 hours asking Michael questions and really listening to what he was experiencing. After his appointment, he had blood work done.
March 10, Michael had an EMG in the morning and an EEG in the afternoon. Thursday he had an MRI of the head and neck. We will have ALL of the results March 16. Can you believe that?!?!? He has not driven since his ER appointment. We are hoping that he is cleared to drive on Tuesday. He is scheduled for a sleep study on March 18 because the doctor feels that it could be a sleep related issue because he sleeps on his stomach, (he has since he was an infant,he WOULD NOT sleep on his back) and he has a narrow opening in his throat.
Needless to say, Tuesday can't get here soon enough.
Here is Michael wired up for his EEG. Mom said he looked like someone getting a perm in the 1940's.
