Slip Slidin'

Winter is here! We had our first blast Wednesday. The "weather experts" were all talking about how much ice we would have and to "watch us at 4 am to see if your school is on our list of school closings".

Of course, both kids wanted to know if Alexander Doniphian was closed. We said it was too early to tell and we would let them know in the morning.

Now, normally for me, Thursday is a clinical day. However, our clinicals are over until the spring, so we had a health fair scheduled. Parks policy for clinicals is if the Kansas City Missouri school district is closed, we don't have clinicals: unless you have a health fair scheduled on campus. I'm not kidding, I think every district in Kansas City was closed, but Park was open.

According to the school, if school is closed, it will be announced by 6 am. I held out hope until 6:45. An hour later, I was with the rest of my class, slowly arriving after sliding through stop sign, fishtailing on off ramps and baby stepping my way to the science hall.

Tonight we are having snow on top of the ice. Again, I will be looking to see if classes are cancelled.
